Wire It
Right.
Build Wealth.

Straight-talking financial education for Canadians — from a master electrician who built wealth the same way he runs a job site: no shortcuts, no cutting corners.

Gord "Amp" Ampere
Master Electrician
& Financial Straight-Talker
"I didn't get rich. I got organized. Then I got patient. Then I got rich."

Gord Ampere is a 48-year-old master electrician from Barrie, Ontario who runs a small, profitable two-truck operation with his son. He drives a paid-off F-150, wears the same Carhartt jacket he's had since Harper was Prime Minister, and brings a thermos to every job site.

He started talking about money online because he kept watching young apprentices blow their first real paycheques — and repeat every mistake he made at 22. He figured if he could teach someone to wire a panel safely, he could teach them to wire their finances the same way.

Gord is not a financial advisor. He's the knowledgeable friend every Canadian wishes they had — one who'll tell you the truth about your car lease over a coffee without making you feel stupid.

6 Rules Gord Lives By

Every piece of Gord's advice runs through one central truth: electrical work done wrong doesn't fail immediately — it fails years later, at the worst possible time. Money works the same way.

01
🔌
The First Chair Rule

Pay yourself first — 10% off every paycheque, automated, before anything else. That's your main breaker. Everything else runs from there.

02
🪫
Never Overload a Circuit

Debt isn't evil, but too much trips the breaker on your whole life. Know your load. Respect your limits. Credit is a tool — not a lifestyle.

03
🏦
Best Free Conduit in Canada

Your TFSA is the greatest financial gift the government ever gave you. Most people are wasting it. Gord is on a personal mission to fix that.

04
🔩
Cheap Materials Cost More

Fee-bloated mutual funds, payday loans, and rent-to-own furniture. They all look affordable up front. They all cost you a fortune in the end.

05
🌍
Ground Everything

Your emergency fund is your financial ground wire — 3 to 6 months of expenses. Without it, one surge wipes out your whole system.

06
⏱️
Boring Is Beautiful

Index funds. Low fees. Long time horizons. Automatic contributions. Compound interest is the best tool in the box — and it works while you sleep.
